Marrysville Pillchuck Highschool Dance Party
Ok, so I slacked off on the review for this party long enough.
This particular event was a lot like last year's. Aside from the fact that this time, it was just Solar Signal and I spinning, and we both got paid. Solar spun first. It was an hour and a half of some pretty good shit if I do say so myself. I'm not a big trance head but his knowledgeable beats combined with a decently high quality sound system made my poi dancing much more enjoyable. I danced throughout the entire night actually. Setting the "rave" mood by tossing in some glowstick dancing with the techno music.
After spinning my poi for the time that Solar spun his set, It was time for me to spin my hardstyle. Excitement roared throughout the building as to the fact that most of the kids there are hardstyle fans. Not to say anything down on Solar, as his set was almost flawless. But I was still plenty ready to kick it up a notch.
The set was pretty self explanatory. I threw down tracks from artists like D-Block, Headhunterz, Showtek, The Pitcher, Brennan Heart, and more. It was a pretty standard experience for a school dance. About half way through Solar's set, they started requesting hip-hop. NEVER DO THAT!!! Then several times during BOTH of our performances, the dancing mob left to places unknown. It was odd to play in a cafeteria that you weren't allowed to leave until after the party, yet still see the room empty and fill several times during the event. I think that the only reason Solar and I stayed was because there was money involved. Him and I both dislike playing for an empty floor.
